Decisions always have consequences In the play Antigone by Sophocles, Creon decisions brought a long devastation to him and his family. Antigone’s decision to bury her brother against Creon’s will, made Creon to verdict the death sentence for Antigone. Although, she knew that her actions will have a devastating end instead she preferred to honor her brother Thebes. One thing is for sure, Creon decisions weren’t the best.With this said, Creon’s only crime was his pride. As a king, Creon had the prestige honor to create laws and decisions for others. Creon stated that,”For there’s no greater evil than a lack of leadership. That destroys whole cities, turns households into ruins and in war makes soldiers break and run away”(pg,16 lines 764-767). …show more content…

It’s amazing that although he knew that his son loved Antigone he was willing to seperate them both. Aa a matter of fact Creon told his son,”Indeed, my son, that’s how your heart should always be resolved to stand behind your father’s judgement on every issue”(pg.16 lines 725-728).Creon’s choice of deciding the fate of his own son is the most absurd a father can do to his son when deciding his protection. The good thing would be that Haemon of course would never will let his father do that to him and responded to him with,”she’ll not die with me just standing there. And as for you,your eyes will never see me again’(pg.19 lines 871-873). Haemon’s response to his father's allegation proves that he’s also stubborn and is also willing to go against his father will to be next to Antigone.In addition, when someone acts stubborn is becase they beleive in them self 24/7 but no one is perfect. With this said, we should never make our self belief we are higher than anyone else because no one is perfect and we all commit mistakes, just ask Creon about
