After analyzing the movie “A Walk among the Tombstones”, one can realize that there are there are many underlying causes for criminal behavior, although there are many consequences for drug dealing. One of the issues that the director shed light on in this movie is the criminal behavior of the individuals who are kidnapping. Although their primary desire is the materialistic gain (money), they are performing inhuman crimes, such as killing the woman and cutting the fingers of the child. One might think that such stories are fictional, but they do exist in some countries that lack robust security systems. After all the investigations led by detective Matt Scudder, it was concluded that the mafia kidnapped the wife of Mr. Kenny Kristo who is a drug dealer and is wealthy enough to pay the amount of money requested by the mafia. One might assume that this is a cliché in crime stories/movies, where many mysterious crimes end up related to drug dealers’ gang. For example, “Candy”, “Snitch” and “Traffic” movies portray similar stories. However, this reflects a reality. For example, a true-story film” Paid in Full” narrates that Wood Harris was arrested for drug dealing and his friend Mekhi Phifer, cloth cleaner, took his place as the head of that mafia. When Wood left the prison he knew that Mekhi took his place in charge of the mafia so he killed him. This real life example is to show you that drug dealing is a world of crimes.
