During my time in this course, I was able to gather some important information that I can be able to use in my career. Starting from the book, interviews, observation, and touring to presentations were an amazing adventure. I was able to create a professional resume that I can just edit and submit it to an employer. I learned how to create a good resume and cover letter, which I already used to get my recent job. Career services were helpful for me instead of create something that an employee will look at it and tell that I wasn’t ready for the position. Touring some of the criminal cases trials in courts were an experiment and I learned a lot. Even though our Criminal Justice field is still needs some work to serve us better, I believe that the outside look of overall is blinded that the real system. How to behave during an interview is more important as I go father in my education. Internship is the number one key for a student to be able to understand the field of he or she is thinking of getting in. I chose immigration work because I think we need immigration reform that can serve better those that are here to help the country move forward. I want to be able to bring someone’s smile in the face by doing what’s right not breaking the law. Professor Kevin from CRJ306 once told me: “do what’s right and enjoy it doing it because that’s what most people don’t have.” I think what he meant was that most people don’t enjoy they work and that is the problem we have in our criminal justice system.
