Providing legal assistance in a helpful and effective way is something I am very passionate about. As a third year Legal Studies and History student at the University of Wisconsin - Madison I have spent a lot of time closely analyzing legal issues to find satisfactory solutions. I think I am a good candidate for the UW Law School’s Wisconsin Innocence Project internship because I have a desire to learn and understand the law through close observation and because I have experience navigating customer service and interpersonal interactions in a responsive and positive manner. Through my experiences studying Legal Studies, History, and Criminal Justice I have acquired an interest in pursuing law post-graduation. I understand the importance of maintaining a good reputation and strong relationships with customers and clients in order to form strong and meaningful connections for a business or organization. Being that finances are a stressful and sensitive subject for many clients, I was able to develop a professional yet cordial attitude when responding to financial inquiries or grievances in order to maintain orderly interactions while yielding the best possible results for the client. I also took note of the profound impact that doing a job well done initially can have on later tasks or interactions. I believe I can apply my experience in customer service exchanges not only to client interactions but with any professional interaction I may encounter during this internship.
