Criminologist is a profession that works to understand what drives the criminal into committing the crime and the effect of the crime committed. The main responsibility of a criminologist will be to investigate all aspects of a crime and find alternatives to avert the criminal behavior and reduce backsliding (Roufa, 2015). When a crime is committed, the criminologist will investigate all aspects of the crime such as what was the drives, why they commit the crime and why they choose that certain way to commit the crime and what did they get from it. They may be required to present at the crime-scene, or attending an autopsy examination and examining horrific reports in murder scene (A day in the life of criminologist, 2015). When a crime took place, criminologist may be required to present at the crime scene and carry out investigations around the crime scene. Criminologist may be required to present at an autopsy examination too in order to gain a better understanding towards the case they are handling. A criminologist that is handling murder case may serve as an expert witness, where he or she will be testifying in courts if required (A day in the life of criminologist, 2015). When a criminal is captured, criminologist will speak with them in order to determine whether the he or she fits into the physiological profile of that particular crime (A day in the life of criminologist, 2015). They are in charge of collecting data, report proofing and working with computer (Criminologist, n.d.). These years are years with low responsibility with average hours of working and pays as he or she is just an assistant to the criminologist. Most of the time spent during these years are to gain experience and also to learn specific methods or procedures involved when he or she is to become a criminologist (Criminologist, n.d.). Five years out in the field, the junior or assistant criminologist will finally earned the title ‘criminologist’. Most of them work as part of a team in accumulating the data collected by other junior members before providing them with an analysis that was made (Criminologist, n.d.). Responsibilities during this are higher as compared to the junior or assistant criminologists years. As the responsibilities increase, the pay they receive and the working hours increases as well (Criminologist, n.d.). Ten years out in the field, the criminologist will most likely evolve into a professional becoming chief o head of criminology in their respective agencies (Criminologist, n.d.). Their work will most likely be managing staff and junior criminologists by supervising and directing their research. This position is more rewarding from the financial perspectives but less rewarding in terms of satisfaction (Criminologist, n.d.). Besides that, criminologist may benefits a lot from
