Although critics argue science fiction is redundant, the reality is science fiction is innovating as it prompts towards an aspiring future. This is seen throughout the scifi genre as worlds, galaxies, and universes are created where there are superior beings, and technology. Humanity has a tendency to invent unfeasible marvels of technology in the mind, and then spend a lifetime attempting to recreate such feat in the real word. It is as the saying goes all acts begin through the imagination. This is especially true in sific as all that is brought to life through literature, first began as an act of imagination by someone. This essential ties the genre with human experience, thus for better or for worse it can create role model worlds or criticize society about its flaws. The genre also brings humans out of their comfort zone and introduces new standards, and realizations. This can be seen in the case of "1984" which is a distorted utopian society ruled by the government, that resembles communism. This parallel allows the author to criticise the world, and point out the flaws the government, or the people may have to a wide array of audience. It also expands the circle of what is acceptable by introducing new technology, lifeforms, and purpose. Science fiction is also similar to fantasy, in the sense that both genre create, and invent anything, and everything, but ultimately end with the fact the scifi tends to head of into the unknown, and away from earth. Fantasy on the other hand is contrary, and tends to stay with the limits of earth. The genre presents itself as a paradox world to our own, and also us to escape into an alternate reality. These are the components that make scifi interesting. The most known scifi is Star wars, and Star trek, scifi that takes place in the future. In these scifi films, humanity has unlocked the ability to travel the galaxy, and explore outside our own solar system.
