The Crooked Creek Conservation Club February 26, 2023 Dear Reader, I wrote this paper in order to show my love for The Crooked Creek Conservation Club. I hope this rhetorical analysis will intrigue you to look into clubs like this near you. When I first joined the club as a child, I was not sure if I would enjoy what it offers. However, I later found it to be one of my favorite places to go to when I am stressed and want to reconnect with old friends. It also has led me to try new things that I never thought I would. For example, I learned how to fish with bait, shoot rifles and handguns, shoot at clay targets, start big fires and most importantly I learned how to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. With this essay I did try new strategies for writing. I came up with a small outline of what I was going to speak about in each paragraph. Previously, I would write the paper from start to finish. I did not think about how I was going to arrange the paper before going into my writing. I found this to be very helpful for me as a writer because I was able to stay more organized than usual. Some changes I made to my essay was to explain the uses of ethos, pathos and logos a little more. Rather than assuming that my audience knew what I was talking about. The feedback from my peers helped the most. It made me realize that parts of my essay were choppy and did not have a good flow. My understanding of rhetoric has changed because now I understand how some businesses promote their products. Many of them use ethos in order to persuade their audience and bring up an emotion in them. This is a use of ethos because it gives the members an opportunity to get together and make new memories. Ethos is being used here because they use events to draw up emotions within the members. My favorite event that I attend every year is their Fourth of July cookout. The reason this is my favorite event is due to my friends and family that attend. The club provides steak and burgers and you have to provide everything else. My one friend always brings her famous pasta salad which seems to get better every time I eat it. The club always has something for everyone. They make sure to have a bounce house, face painting and swing sets for the younger kids. They also have their usual activities such as fishing, trap shooting, clay shooting, and multiple competitions that you can join in. Another part of this event is the fireworks. I have seen fireworks hundreds of times but none compare to these. The show that the club puts on is unexplainable. They also make sure to set up a big bonfire to keep everyone warm. The main reason this event is so important to me is because I do not get to see these friends and family members very often. This event, hosted by The Crooked Creek Conservation Club, gives me the opportunity to meet up with them and reconnect. I look forward to it every year and I know many other members do as
