I’m writing to you regarding Parris. I want to explain to you why you should not place too much faith in him. He is greedy, all he wants is more money and will do anything to get more. He’s also very selfish, he only thinks about himself and doesn’t look out for anyone except for himself. He also is bias and is a reason why Salem has changed into what it has become. I’m hoping that you stop putting so much faith in him. Parris is a very greedy man and acts in ways that godly men should not act. While his daughter, Betty Parris, was sick, all he could worry about was that he wanted more money so that he could get more firewood. If everything going on wasn’t bad enough, he continued to be greedy by asking for golden candlesticks for the church. Finally if everything I’ve said about him being greedy isn’t bad enough, he also, against tradition, demanded for the deed to the house that he lives in. When his daughter was sick and in bad condition, all he could think about was how much it would hurt his reputation if people started to think that there was witchcraft going on in his home. He is a terrible man, he requested that the hangings be stopped but he did it for himself because he thought that if good people would hang that the town might revolt.
