Cruelty In Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'

Macbeth starting off was a noble man. I thought of him as a great soldier, until he started to become arrogant in the information he receives. My attitude toward Macbeth would include disgust, anger, and cruel. The moment Macbeth received his news; I became disgusted, from his attitude, of instantly wanting to execute off the ones in his way. His poor decisions, always stirred up rage, because they were never wise, and never for the good of others. His ways were ways of cruelty in my eyes; he was only worried about himself and never his people. Macbeth was full of corrupt things, and thoughts, this makes for a disgusting person. Throughout the entire story, Macbeth always gave me a reason to be disgusted. In the beginning, when he was told he would become king, he did not rejoice, instead he wanted to know the quickest way he could receive his title. This consisted of killing off innocent people, in his eyes. Not only did he bring himself down with his thoughts, but also had his wife plot with him. She may have encouraged him at times, but it was a group effort, and a ruthless one at that. Macbeth’s lack of thinking before he acted caused me excessive anger. …show more content…

As a king, he was supposed to put his people, and country before him, but instead he put himself first. He was so overwhelmed in the crimes he had committed, and the crimes he was plotting. His conscience overpowered him, and filled him with anger. This caused him to go on and outrageous purge of people that would cause inconvenience to him. His murders caused me to become angry, because these were innocent people being killed, and he was just extremely selfish.
