C.S. Lewis was stimulated to write “The last Battle” by his religious beliefs.
C.S. Lewis was one of the greatest authors of the twentieth century. He also was one of the most influential writers of the English literature. One of his most popular accomplishments was “The Chronicles of Narnia.” Jack was motivated to write this book because his religious background.
Clive Staples Lewis was born on November 29,1898 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He was born of Irish parents. His father was Albert J. Lewis and his mother was called Florence Augusta Hamilton Lewis. Saying “there is absolutely no proof for any of them”. Jack was getting further from God. With the passing of the years he enlisted in the British Army three years after the outbreak of World War I. it was in 1920 that Major Lewis had retired form the military. After that he began studying Ancient History and philosophy called Greats. During this period he wrote an essay called “Optimism” and it won the Chancellor’s English Prize in May. Years later on May 20, 1925 the Belfast Times announced “Honor for Belfast Man” for Jack Lewis. Days of poverty were over for him. Was during 1927 that he and his father had spent their last holiday together. Two years later Albert Lewis was dying of cancer, and Jack when to Ireland to take care of him. After some days of his dad’s improvements, Jack returned back to Oxford, but he was called back due to his father death. Two years after his father death, Jack returned to his Christian beliefs. All of this was due to a book that he had read at a train station. This was the first step to come back to Christianity. Jack said “I had not the faintest notion what I had let myself in for buying
