Big Scare in US with Soviet Missiles in Close Range It's October 1962 and there are Soviet missiles in Cuba (Cuban Missile). The Cuban Missile Crisis was one of the most important times in U.S history. The relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union was already tense and called, “The Cold War.” A missile attack could wipe out the whole Eastern coast of the United States within just four minutes (Cuban Missile). The Cuban Missile Crisis brought the United States and the Soviet Union on the brink of nuclear war. This is how the Cuban Missile Crisis went down.

Before you can know all of the details of the Cuban Missile Crisis you need to know what was going on at the time involving the Cold War. The Soviet Union and the United States have never really gotten along well. This time was no different. Another big reason that they didn’t like each other is that the Soviets were communist and were spreading the idea of communism to other countries. The United States has been trying to do the exact opposite by trying to get rid of communism.
