In Bridget Palmer’s journal article, “name” (2015), the author discusses the cultural problems that occurs between teachers and students, particularly in the middle east, providing some examples from our daily life. Palmer worked as English and linguistics professor in American University of Sharjah, where she conducted her study that is mentioned in the article. She is a professor that live in the Middle East, and connect with Arab understudies frequently as a piece of her life; which empowers her to get a firsthand look into the lives of one of the students she is focusing in her examination and have a superior comprehension of the members that are adding to the study. However, the questions she asked to students was Have u ever been in a cultural conflict issue? If yes explain. It seems like she is forcing them to speak as your answer should be “yes” so just tell me a story happened to you. The questionnaires requested some anecdotal information from every students keeping in mind the end goal to accumulate information. Table 4 (p.86) categorizes the conflicts and gives some illustrated examples, but some types of conflicts are not cultural. For instance “ Lack of respect for religious believes” this issue should not exist in our world, everyone has his believes and people should respect it this is not a type of cultural conflict this is very disrespectful act. Also, in the same table, one of the illustrative examples states that when teacher announces a low score of any student in front of his/her colleagues causes shame for this particular student. This issue is subjective, it depends and varies from each student not only in the Arabic region but in the whole world. These two examples made this part of the article ineffective.
