The Geography and environment influenced the Cultural Development and survival of the Indigenous people in 3 different regions, the Eastern Woodlands, the pacific Northwest and California. The Eastern woodlands has a very humid warm climate and extremely cold winters. The Eastern woodlands has many trees including oak and spruce. The Eastern Woodlands tribes use the wood for fires, long houses, and Tools. The Eastern woodlands Had five main groups the Iroquois, Narragansett, Pequot, and Seminole. The Pacific northwest is located on the west edge of America. Pacific Northwest is smaller than The Eastern woodlands, but its longer. Like the Eastern Woodlands there is very dense forests, but the Pacific northwest has very heavy rainy climate. They also have mountains and rivers. The Pacific Northwest was very similar to the Eastern Woodlands, and examples such as they both live in longhouse, they both have a water source that provides good resources, and many trees for houses. The had many tribe like most . indigenous parts including the Chinook. The Chinook was a very large Tribe. So large even they have there own language called “Chinook”. The Chinook made many different thing than the Iroquois such as totem poles and large canoes. The totem pole was a very large pole with wood carving of animals the carving were made in three or more layers and symbolized
