These two are used to evaluate systems of resource allocation. Allocating a resource means deciding what to use it for. The reason resource allocation is important, is because economics studies what people do when resources are scarce, that is, when there 's not enough resources to satisfy all the human wants that are competing for them. Its very rare to find a perfectly functional competitive market. Even though they are efficient they result in very inequitable markets.
In the United States there are two major parties involved in our political structure, Democrats and Republicans. Since 1836, these two parties have dominated the political scene and Democrats and Republicans have controlled Congress and the presidency since 1860. Now, within these two parties there are people with progressive and conservative ideologies. These ideologies are not confined to only one political party, but instead are largely based on the individual’s opinion and perspective. Generally speaking though, most conservatives are Republicans and most progressives are Democrats.
The Democratic-Republicans transform the political culture of America. They were also the beneficiaries of the first bloodless Revolution. this political culture was named Jeffersonian Democracy. (Schultz, 2013). Jefferson focused on reducing the size of the government, the development of the first national court system, and expanding the agrarian republic.
Based on the political debate, I’ve learned many things about the Democratic-Republicans and the Federalists. For example, the Democratic-Republicans believed that having an economy that was based upon agriculture and farming was the best way to succeed. They thought that most citizens were good, and that there should be a more state-centered government so that the people can generally rule themselves. Democratic-Republicans thought that if the constitution didn’t specify something, you can’t read between the lines and make up what you want to do. They also believed that they should help France in the war against England because in the American Revolution, France had helped them.
There are a number of differences in the demographics between the ones that are and are not politically involved. Older people tend to vote more than the younger people by their concern toward the government, as well as the number of white Americans voting more than the other minority races would. The educated will vote more than the uneducated by having more knowledge of the election, along with families with higher income of over $65,000 having time to vote than the low income ones of $35,000 or under. The ones who shows party identification would want to get involved in politics, whereas independent individual would not care as much. People who grew up with specific ideology would want to have a say in politics, in contrast to those who did not.

The modern Democrats are historically descended from the Democratic-Republican Party that Jefferson himself organized to thwart the ambitions of Alexander Hamilton (although, ironically, they were known as "Republicans" in Jefferson 's time). Democrats vs. Republicans Since the late 1700’s our nation has become split between Democrats and Republicans. Between the two parties there is a lot of tension. On the days of any election many people vied hoping their party can take part in governmental decisions.
The United States of the early 19th century had two prominent political parties: Federalist and Democratic-Republican. Each had its own set of ideals for the American government. Democratic-Republicans attempted to adhere to the Constitutional principles of the common people’s rule and control shared among states. Conversely, Federalists believed in the principles of federal government control and elite rule. These different viewpoints led to great conflict between the parties.
Both have good intentions, they just believe in different ways. Overall though, the nation’s parties have many similarities and many differences. To start off with, one the biggest similarities that can be noticed between the two parties is the goal.
