Marcus Brawley 2/1/18 Cyntoia Brown ,Facing Life Cyntoia Brown, a african american teenager, is facing a life sentence in an adult prison for the murder of Johnny Allen in his own home. Born on January 29th, 1988 in the state of Tennessee a young Cyntoia was born. From a early age Cyntoia’s life revolved around bad situations which could have shaped up her future in the prison system. One day a 16 year old Cyntoia was trying to head to West Tennessee to find prostitution work for her pimp Kuttthroat. While trying to hitchhike to West Tennessee Cyntoia was approached by a white man(Johnny Allen) trying to receive sexual acts from her which lead them back to Allen’s house where that night Cyntoia would kill him in his bed. It’s a sad case because one decision changed her entire life and it’s taken time from her she’d never get back. When/If Cyntoia gets out her whole life would be different because the world has advanced majorly over her sentence and will continue to advance leaving her in a “stone age” because of all the new technology and the way life has changed. With her being so unadvanced I feel if Cyntoia gets out she’ll end up back in prison because after that long time of being uneducated you won’t know anything other than prison and she may feel that’s the only place she belongs because that’s usual for prisoners after facing a sentence that extreme. I feel that even though justice was served ,A life sentence is too extreme for the situation at hand. Cyntoia was extremely cooperative with the police so I think that should have majorly decreased her time due to the fact she didn’t have to cooperate with them she chose to talk to them on her own. It’s just sad because it’s a teenager’s life that was basically thrown away over a spur of the moment choice that yes, may have been a major choice, but still a
