This is my honor to be nominated as a candidate for Outstanding Graduate of the Year. I see that this is a great opportunity for me to share not only my thoughts and love to Cypress College, but also my experiences about the extracurricular activities that I am participating in. Although I have transferred to California State of Fullerton to continue my dream of getting bachelor degree in Accounting major, I am always proud to be Cypress College student. The main reason that I chose to study Business Administration major in Cypress College to achieve my academic goal was that the school has a well-knowing Business department and excellent staffs and faculties who are highly trained professional people and always ready to assist students. Besides providing excellent academic and vocational programs, this school offers a wonderful environment and a lot of interested activities for students to study, experience, and have fun. An other reason that I chose to study in Cypress College was that it offers a lot of scholarships every year which helps students to pay for school fees, transportation, and support their own families. In fact, I am volunteering for the OC volunteer income tax assistance (VITA). Being a volunteered tax assistant, I can not only gain a lot of useful experience but also contribute to the community and help low income and disabled people to file their tax return for free. Additionally, I am also a volunteer teacher in Saint Columban Catholic Church. My work is teaching Vietnamese language for students who are in grade third and fifth every Sunday.
