One thing every high school student has contemplated revolves around what they want to be or do when they graduate. This is a very big step for an individual, many people are influenced to choose a certain career path. Whether that be from their parents or their religion. I was lucky enough to have parents that wanted me to study and choose whatever path I desired, this came with complications however. During my childhood, like most other kids, I wanted to be a professional basketball player. Playing in the NBA was always a dream of mine, but as I grew older and fell less in love with the game, I realized that it would be a miracle if I got a D1 scholarship to play basketball. I want to own my own business. With the decision to own my own business comes the factor of having to decide what that business is going to be, whether the business is a retail store, or a mechanic shop or even follow in the footsteps of my father and create a carpet and hardwood store. These are some very big choices that I must make. I have concluded that I want to own an auto mechanic shop. I now must look at colleges that can help build and perfect the tools to be a car mechanic. Evermore I must find a college that will help prepare me for owning my own business. I will be researching the fundamentals of owning a business, as well as what it takes to run and grow a successful business. This means that the business is maintaining quality products, rather than push out as many lousy products. This is key to a successful business because without quality products the customers may have a bad experience with that product, and word gets around quick. Once people know that your business produces low-grade products then you will lose business rather than gain
