The myth “Daedalus” as retold by Anne Terry White is about a man who learns that his actions have unexpected and unfortunate consequences. Daedalus is a very talented and famous sculptor and architect. Daedalus has a young nephew named Talus, Talus is also clever and very creative. Talus created a compass by iron rods and a saw out of fish bones. Daedalus and Talus were standing on a height one day and Daedalus pushed him off. Daedalus was jealous of Talus and his creativity. When Daedalus wanders around and winds up in a called Crete. When he is there King Minos “hires” him to build a labyrinth. As he is the process of doing that he realizes that he is a prisoner. When Daedalus realizes that he is a prisoner, he wants to escape from prison.
