The lack of respect for women from older men shows the younger generations that it is acceptable to have misogynistic behavior and discourages women from pursuing influential roles in society which maintains the social construction of gender. Daenerys is finally recognized as queen of the Dothraki alongside Khal Drogo because of his newfound love. After Drogo dies from an infected wound, she is left leading Drogo’s khalasar, and because many Dothraki still believe that a woman is not fit to rule an army without a man, they leave to start their own khalasar.
