In 1922, which was called the Roaring Twenties, it was a “ party century” some would say. The Great Gatsby goes into a theme of wealth, love and living the “American dream”. Daisy is to blame for Gatsby’s death because of how selfish she was, she never told anyone she was driving and led Gatsby on. Daisy was always a selfish person who thought the world revolved around her. I told her how I had stopped off in Chicago for a day on my way east, and how a dozen people had sent their love through me. “Do they miss me?”. When Daisy talks to people, she whispers to them so they can lean closer to her to understand what she is saying. While she was growing up she was the “it” girl, the girl that everyone wanted or wanted to be. With all this attention she got as a young girl, she thought it would be the same when she got older. After Nick tells her that the whole city of Chicago missed her, her mindset went into when she was a young girl and everyone wanted her. The night when the accident happened and Myrtle was killed, Daisy never expressed to anyone that she was the one driving. He ran over Myrtle like you’d run over a dog and never even stopped his car” (Fitzgerald 178). After the accident and Daisy went home, Tom and her were talking to each other in the kitchen. Since Tom still believes Gatsby was the one driving, you can see Daisy never told Tom what actually happened. After Myrtle and Gatsby’s murders, Daisy and Tom left town and never came back. Skipping town is very common when it comes to someone who murders someone. Only the ones who knew Daisy did it were Gatsby,Daisy and Tom and two out of the three never came forward. Daisy has been lending Gatsby on since she first saw him at Nick’s house. “Even alone I can’t say
