Darry and Ponyboy have a substantially complex relationship, with many fluctuations in their feelings towards each other, or their perception of those feeling throughout the book. In the beginning of the book, it is thought by Ponyboy that Darry is hard and apathetic towards him. As Ponyboy says in the book, “My face got hot as I bit my lip. Darry… what was Darry like? “He’s…” I started to say he was a good ol’ guy
A hero can be anyone such as your friend, your next door neighbor, or even your sibling. A hero is a person who will risk their life or defend others from harm’s way. In “The Outsiders” by S.E Hinton, Ponyboy is a hero. Johnny is a hero because kills someone to save an innocent person. Cherry teaches Ponyboy lessons about her experiences which also makes her a hero.
Dally not only died a hero to Johnny, he died a hero to many others as well. Dally showed his courage when he put his life at risk to help Johnny and Ponyboy run away from the crime they committed, and he also saved Johnny and Ponyboy from the fire inside of the church. Dally might have been cowardly in some parts of The Outsiders ,but his heroic acts to Ponyboy, Johnny, and other members of the gang show that he died a hero. First of all, Dally died a hero because he helped Ponyboy and Johnny hide from the crime that they committed even though he took a risk in doing so. Dally gave information to two wanted criminals on where to hide, and the police were not as nice to Greasers as they were to Socs.
Dallas Winston, the “Outsider” Ponyboy and his gang are all considered “Outsiders” but there is one greaser from their gang that stands out the most with the title of “Outsider”. Dallas Winston is a hoodlum from New York who had been arrested many times since he was 10 years old. His parents weren’t around when he was growing up, and this really affected his life because he didn’t have anyone to tell him what to do. The author chose this title for the book because she wanted to give an immediate example of how the greasers were treated back then. In the novel The Outsiders, written by S.E. Hinton, there are many characters that could be considered “Outsiders”; but Dally is the biggest “Outsider” in the story.
The chapters 1-5 of the Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, is about two gangs the greasers and the Socs, who are always causing trouble. In the greaser gang, the protagonist, Ponyboy, is always getting good grades and is the smartest in the gang. Dally is one of the members in the gang, Ponyboy 's brother, has been in jail multiple times. Sodapop is also Ponyboy’s brother. He works at a gas station.
Heroes are all around you but you just need to find them. In the novel The Outsiders Johnny is a hero. S.E. Hinton uses Johnny Cade's vulnerable personality and broken home life in The Outsiders to suggest that heroes do not have to be perfect.
If anybody messes and gets in his way, Dally will beat them up. Dally is the most meanest and unforgiving person in the gang. Pony doesn’t really like the way he acts to everybody. Dally has been aggressive all his life.
Dallas saved Ponyboy, and Johnny from the burning church which they started by a cigarette! Lets not forget he saved Ponyboy from the Socs. They were at a brawl and Ponyboy got really hurt so Dallas rushed him
Unlike Ponyboy and Johnny, Dally's innocence was lost long before the events of the novel. He has already experienced the brutality of life and has become desensitized to the world's hardships. However, through his interactions with Ponyboy and Johnny, Dally develops a protective and caring side, which indicates a glimmer of innocence. As Dally tries to save Johnny from the burning church, he exclaims, "Ponyboy, I ain't gonna let you get hurt... I ain't gonna let them hurt you" (Hinton, 92).
Heros. Who are they? They are not the ones that are fighting the imaginary villains. Heros are the ones who save others emotionally and physically and do whatever it takes to do the impossible. Darry has an extremely serious personality and loves Ponyboy with tough love. All three show love in different ways, but they still do love. Love is shown throughout all of the book The Outsiders in various ways, even though there is lots of violence. Dally and Johnny had a very close bond. They were very close all the time and really admired each other.

The Outsiders is a book where a ragtag group of greasers band together and overcome victories, tragedies, and above all, build an even stronger bond of brotherhood. This story begins in the town of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Ponyboy(our main character) is walking home from the movies and gets ambushed by a large group of Socs(Sociables-the “popular/rich” clique).
Dally is not strong mentally (when he couldn’t let Johnny go), he really does not do good deeds, and he does not care about any other people than only Johnny, and he’s rude to others and bad at using words.
