Dally unexpectedly demonstrates bravery many times throughout the book. Initially, Ponyboy views Dally as tough and mean. However, Dally frequently displays his selflessness by helping his fellow gang members, even though the consequences for him could be very detrimental. In doing so, he establishes himself as a father figure, someone who will look out for the others, no matter what. His heroism creates trust between the boys and establishes a ‘family’ within the gang, which each of them is sadly missing in one way or another.
Therefore dally and johnny have some similarities and huge amount of differences. Dally is a mean, aggressive, tough person. He has a record a mile long. He can’t do anything legal, so when he wants to go to the drive in everyone with him has to sneak in. He loves picking fights with people and loves to scare little kids.

In the story “The Outsiders” Dally is the biggest hero because he is selfless, caring, and strong. First, Dally is a hero because he is selfless. In the story, when Ponyboy comes to in the ambulance he says “Dallas hit me. How come?”

Dally’s selfless personality to Ponyboy, Johnny, and the rest of the greasers, make him a hero. One time Dally demonstrated his selfless personality, is after Johnny killed Bob out of self-defense. He and Ponyboy went to Buck Merrill's place to seek help. The first thing Dally says when he answered the door was, “Okay, kids, whatta you need me for,” (Hinton 59). He didn’t even hesitate to help them and gave them money, clothes, and a plan for dodging the police.
Dally loved no one except for Johnny. He felt as if he was his brother and he tried his best to let no one hurt him. When he died he believed that he would just kill himself to be with Johnny and wouldn't feel the depression he did for losing his brother. So as he did Dally sank to grief and commited suicide. Ponyboy didn't expect that Johnny and Dally died the same day.
He was also the “real character of the gang” (10, Hinton).I chose Dally because he is my favorite character. He is tough and strong but he couldn’t take it when Johnny died he was the one thing that kept him from blowing up. In the end of the book Ponyboy talks about how his essay for
The character that I personally liked the best was Ponyboy because of how similar our personalities are. The character that I personally liked the least was Dally although, I did not dislike Dally I couldn't connect with the character due to him being seemingly irredeemable although, he did do some good throughout the story such as giving johnny and ponyboy supplies and a place to hide after johnny killed Bob and furthermore, he helped save Johnny from the burning church. In the end the Dally ended up breaking near the end of the story and got involved in a shootout Police after pointing an unloaded gun as a bluff after robbing a store because he could not handle the loss of johnny due to johnny being the only person he really cared about.
Ponyboy’s parents died in a car crash leaving his oldest brother Darrel also known as Darry to take care of his two younger brothers. The middle brother Sodapop is always trying to keep Darry and Ponyboy from fighting. Darry has become more of a parent figure in in Ponyboys life causing a lot of tension between the two. Some of the other main characters are Johnny, Two-Bit, Dallas, and Steve. They are all Greasres and are coincided a gang but just think of each other as friends.
Dally A rock-hard hood who never backs down from any challenge. Dally is a character in the book “Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton. The Outsiders is a book where a ragtag group of greasers band together and overcome victories, tragedies, and above all, build an even stronger bond of brotherhood. This story begins in the town of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Ponyboy(our main character) is walking home from the movies and gets ambushed by a large group of Socs(Sociables-the “popular/rich” clique).
Dally is not strong mentally (when he couldn’t let Johnny go), he really does not do good deeds, and he does not care about any other people than only Johnny, and he’s rude to others and bad at using words. Get back in here before I beat your head in.” (p.90) This quotation supports my statement because Dally said this to Ponyboy when he hopped off the car and said to see what the deal is when he saw the old church on fire, it proves that Dally does not care about other stuff that does not involve him and that he’s rude to others and using

Prompt #14 “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming!” I believe I am related to the movie character Dory. She is from the movie Finding Nemo, and Finding Dory. She and I are similar in many ways. Three of the ways include, we are both forgetful, we both have high spirits and are confident, and we both have sympathy for people and objects.
The first time we see this is after Johnny and Ponyboy arrive fresh from the murder to seek Dally’s help. He gives them dry clothes, a loaded gun, fifty dollars, and tells them a location to hide in. He gave them the essentials they need even though he could have gone to jail. Darry would have even beat up Dally to death for helping them escape town and giving them a gun and money. According to Ponyboy, “...he [Dally] got drunk, he rode in rodeos, lied, cheated, stole, rolled drunks, jumped small kids—he did everything.”
