Above all he cared for Johnny the most because he was the “gang's pet”, Dally cared about Johnny so much that when Johnny died Dally came up with a plan to die too. Another way Dally cared for the gang is that when Johnny and Ponyboy was at the Church reading Gone With The Wind Johnny said that the Southern boys reminded him of Dally because on night the fuzz came because Two-bit broke the windows at the school but Dally took the blame without batting an eye when he could have let Two-bit get in trouble. Dally even broke out of the hospital to help fight in the rumble. Some may say that Dallas didn't do anything and it was Johnny who was the hero although if Dally didn't help Johnny and Ponyboy they would have went straight to the police and most likely would have been put in jail which would have caused them to not be the same soft people they
Dally unexpectedly demonstrates bravery many times throughout the book. Initially, Ponyboy views Dally as tough and mean. However, Dally frequently displays his selflessness by helping his fellow gang members, even though the consequences for him could be very detrimental. In doing so, he establishes himself as a father figure, someone who will look out for the others, no matter what. His heroism creates trust between the boys and establishes a ‘family’ within the gang, which each of them is sadly missing in one way or another.
Police were already after him because Dally robbed a store. On page 152 Ponyboy says ‘“ Dally is gone, he ran out like the devil was after him”’. And on page 154 it says, “Dally raised the gun, they don’t know that your bluffin and the police men’s guns spit fire into the night’”. This is important to the book because someone they cared about the most died. This demonstrates the importance of losing someone you cared about the most, because somebody died who was in their gang and they cared about a lot.
Dally not only died a hero to Johnny, he died a hero to many others as well. Dally showed his courage when he put his life at risk to help Johnny and Ponyboy run away from the crime they committed, and he also saved Johnny and Ponyboy from the fire inside of the church. Dally might have been cowardly in some parts of The Outsiders ,but his heroic acts to Ponyboy, Johnny, and other members of the gang show that he died a hero. First of all, Dally died a hero because he helped Ponyboy and Johnny hide from the crime that they committed even though he took a risk in doing so. Dally gave information to two wanted criminals on where to hide, and the police were not as nice to Greasers as they were to Socs.
In the story “The Outsiders” Dally is the biggest hero because he is selfless, caring, and strong. First, Dally is a hero because he is selfless. In the story, when Ponyboy comes to in the ambulance he says “Dallas hit me. How come?”
Dally has the biggest reputation for being the best, toughest and the meanest in the outsiders. He also served time in juvenile prison and even came from a broken home environment … in the book and the movie. Ponyboy fears dally and most of all ponyboy dislikes dally for his horrible and rude personality. When they hide out in the abandoned
Ponyboy was known for drawing Dallas when he was in a dangerous mood because he could capture his personality more. Dally’s past included going to jail, being drunk, he's lied, he's cheated, he stole, rolled drunks, jumped small children, and his way of escaping the hospital was by holding a knife to a nurse’s throat. He was known for being the dangerous one, the tough guy who nobody stood up to, but all this encouraged Ponyboy to write about him. However Dally had more to him than his threatening facade, he was caring and had a heart for the
Located on the southern tip of Cape Haze Peninsula between Sarasota and Ft. Myers, Boca Grande is a little piece of paradise on the Gasparilla Island. This paradise features seven miles of white powdery beaches and picturesque blue waters, and is often compared to the great beaches in the Caribbean. Often it is also considered a step back into the "Old World" of Florida and offers great houses to rent or buy for vacationers and permanent residents alike.
Even though he has done some really bad things, he still has good inside of him. Dally is a great example of how no matter what your background is you can still commit an act of heroism. The best example is when during the fire in the church, a falling timber hits Johnny and Dally runs in to save him. One of the teachers of the kids that Ponyboy and Johnny saved, describes Dally’s action like this. “He burned one arm pretty badly… trying to drag the other kid out the window.”
hat is the definition of "Hero"? It means someone who has noble traits, a person you could look up to. Who is Dallas Winston? Dallas, or Dally to his friends, is a troublemaker and delinquent. He steals and gets into fights.
Unlike Ponyboy and Johnny, Dally's innocence was lost long before the events of the novel. He has already experienced the brutality of life and has become desensitized to the world's hardships. However, through his interactions with Ponyboy and Johnny, Dally develops a protective and caring side, which indicates a glimmer of innocence. As Dally tries to save Johnny from the burning church, he exclaims, "Ponyboy, I ain't gonna let you get hurt... I ain't gonna let them hurt you" (Hinton, 92).
I would recommend to read this book to anyone. Holes is an amazing book. The book Holes is about a kid named Stanley Yelnats and how he gets arrested and goes to Camp Green Lake. There Stanley meets Zero and they become friends. Later in the book Stanley is risking his life to try and save Zero’s.
The main character Winston is known for his fatalistic outlook on his life, but do his mental issues go deeper than that? Winston is a character who is known to be socially awkward, even to the point where he seems like he has social anxiety, but this trait is not constant. There are times when he is around Julia where he exhibits uncharacteristic habits with his body language and words. Almost like he is a totally different person, this leads me to believe that Winston has dissociative identity disorder. Dissociative identity disorder, better known as multiple personality disorder occurs “When an individual displays two or more different personality states or identities that recurrently take control of the person’s behavior.
Dally A rock-hard hood who never backs down from any challenge. Dally is a character in the book “Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton. The Outsiders is a book where a ragtag group of greasers band together and overcome victories, tragedies, and above all, build an even stronger bond of brotherhood. This story begins in the town of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Ponyboy(our main character) is walking home from the movies and gets ambushed by a large group of Socs(Sociables-the “popular/rich” clique).
Dally is not strong mentally (when he couldn’t let Johnny go), he really does not do good deeds, and he does not care about any other people than only Johnny, and he’s rude to others and bad at using words. A quotation that supports my statement is, “What for? Get back in here before I beat your head in.” (p.90) This quotation supports my statement because Dally said this to Ponyboy when he hopped off the car and said to see what the deal is when he saw the old church on fire, it proves that Dally does not care about other stuff that does not involve him and that he’s rude to others and using
