Dan Brown! The first word that will come to any person’s mind living in the 2010s after hearing this particular name without any doubt is The Da Vinci Code. The name itself exuberates mystery, religion and of course, controversy. The position and the following that Brown has gathered over the years can only be belittled by the Harry Potter series’ author J.K. Rowling.
Dan Brown has written a total of 6 novels, Digital Fortress and Deception Point being the early works and Angels and Demons, The Lost Symbol and Inferno being the post-stardom ones. The one not yet named is the one that started it all, the one that made Brown the phenomenon that this paper is concerned with. Even in his wildest dreams Dan Brown would have never imagined that The Da Vinci Code would become what it has. At 200million books sold, he is one of the highest selling authors of all time.

His choice of the theme, the locales, the paintings is all exquisite and enchanting directly transporting the readers to the place of action in the novel. Also, the intelligent, agile yet the down-to-earth professor protagonist always takes our heart away with his insight, wit and cleverness. Brown effortlessly manages to please all the feminist readers and supporters alike by portraying his women in a strong light instead of the usual sexual one. He brings the complete package to us, the murder, the mystery, the threat and everything else.
