Procedure of Investigation Materials- 1 pair of leather BLOCH split sole ballet shoes 1 full piece leotard 1 pair of dance shorts 1 clipboard 3 pieces of paper 1 wooden #2 pencil 2 black elastic hair ties 1 room with a wooden floor 1 person who will record how many times you are knocked off balance during a turn describe how your data was collected- tools used, units used, methods of data collection Collection of Data- A person will be observing me and record how many times I am knocked off balance during a turn. Another experiment that I would be very keen to research would be whether you dance shoes affect how many turns you are able to complete. If I were to do this experiment again, I would have liked to have breaks of 20 minutes in between each set of 30 turns. This break would allow the dancer to regain their energy for the next set of turns and make sure the results are not affected by how tired the dancers are. When other dancers read the results of my experiment, it could help prove to them that the turn they are trying to master is not any harder to balance in than the turns they had mastered before. It could also be beneficial to dance teachers to read the results of my experiment. For they could learn more about the turns the are teaching others to do, therefore helping the teachers teach their students how to master them. “Effects to Balance of a Person Due to the Position of the Leg in a Turn” can help lead the way for science to be incorporated into dance teachers’ lessons. If dance teachers incorporated science into their daily lessons, they could help their student reach professional level even faster because of the students’ understanding of the turn. In future dance classes, instead of teaching the students just how to do the turn, the teacher will now teach their students the science side of it
