Laozi expresses his philosophical interpretation of the meaning of Dao in Dao de jing. In another word, he illustrates the more admirable and rational attitude toward life, considering the varied forms of temptations and selfish desires in the secular world, rather than indulging in temporary fame and wealth. In this paper, I would like to concentrate on the eleventh couplet in Dao de jing to further interpret the divergent roles of virtues in different circumstances and the indivisible interaction between the individuals with substantive existences and the things without actual forms. Notwithstanding, the scientific theories that human beings have accumulated are extremely limited, compared with that unknown wisdom in the mysterious universe. So far, all of the known scientific cognition is the same as the roles of doors, windows, and walls within an apartment; is the same as the functions of substantive existences. In this way, the role of space, accommodating human beings with a comfortable dwelling, is in parallel with the infinite scientific information in the enormous universe. When considering both of the known theories and the unknown knowledge, human beings are supposed to pay attention to them equally. There is nothing wrong for human beings to believe in what their eyes see. Supposing some people deny the existence of scientific deduction of three-dimensional space, for there is no substantive evidence to prove its existence, it is because of their inability to approach the visible elements and intangible ideas rationally in considering. People bride other people for seeking the shortcut to wealth and success. In this way, the impartial competition most people are advocating seems to be foolish to them. Once people obtain a little bit of pleasant reward in the competition by dishonest methods, it would no longer be easy for them to resist the temptation of shortcut to approach overwhelming benefits. Honestly, there are lots of people lost in the balance of morality and secular desires. The interaction between the behaviors of human beings and the moral standard in their minds are parallel to the relation between the framework of a house and its empty space. Both of moral values and empty space manifest the significant functions of their actual forms, behaviors, and houses. Accompanied by the available space, the house can provide people with pleasant residence. The integrity of morality, consequently, determines the values of individuals. Meanwhile, human beings without comprehensive cognition toward morality are the same as the houses are uninhabitable.
