Being Responsible: D.A.R.E WHOOSH!! a police car sped by me at record-breaking speed, which reminded me of the police officer who came every Wednesday to teach and tell about Dare. D.A.R.E stands for define, assess, respond and evaluate. Dare is something everyone in the world should know about! It teaches many things, from alcohol to bullying. When we started Dare we learned about making decisions, then how the Dare decision-making model can help us. We learned about 16 different things in Dare and I think all these topics should be General Knowledge to everyone. The reason why I think this is because it is fine if you get bad grades. It is fine if you flunk, because in the real world the important thing is to be a good human. Dare encourages students to be a good person. Until now we have learned about alcohol,drugs,tobacco,methamphetamine, stress, communication, pressure and bullying. One of them is the Dare Decision making model. This resource helps everyone by helping them make important decisions. For me it helped me stay calm and make important decisions such as staying away from places where people smoke. This model has helped me every time I came upon a decision which I couldn’t respond to. There was this one time where I was coming home from school and saw an adult smoking a cigarette He came near me and asked me whether I wanted to smoke with him or not. I quickly changed the subject and walked home briskly. It also kept me calm when my younger brother destroyed my best NERF gun. Instead of giving him a slap in the face (he deserved it) I thought about how I could turn this negative situation into a positive one. It kept me calm and helped me solve my homework once too! This tool is a very useful one and I think that I should remember this tool and use it my entire
