While taking their medicine together Darius’s dad looks up and says “‘ Love you,Darius.’”(Khorram 239). This comes to show that Darius’s dad was not always trying to ruin their relationship. In the book “Darius the Great Is Not Okay”, Dauris does not have a lot of people that he can confide in . I feel that I can relate to Darius in this way because I also feel I do not have a lot of people to talk to. Also, I feel that Darius was never put in a good situation to help with his depression and was just put on medication. I sympathize for Darius because I feel adults just want to put young adults on medication for everything that is wrong with them instead of helping the situation. What makes me feel this way is that Darius was put on medication but the situation with his dad never got better and it still made him depressed. Also his parents never showed that they cared that Darius did not have any friend at home. Technically,he was lonely therefore his depression could arise. I also feel that Darius’ s little sister’s priorities were put over his own by his parents. I relate to Daruis because in my life my older sister’s priorities are put over mine. I understand that it is tough to have a sibling that takes over your parents and not have them to be able to talk and help
