Todays society has changed in many ways, there is so much more technology today then there was back in the 1950’s. Technology has changed so many things even the way we date, there is now something called “online dating”. The process of dating in the 1950’s is very different from the process of dating today. Traditional dating has changed over the past years in many ways. Back in the 1950’s traditional dating seems a lot less complex then today. A man would go out and ask a woman out on a date, he then would pick a day and time to go on that date, if she said yes then he would tell her a time that he would be picking her up for the date. Now dates may consist of going places, a museum or just getting a cup of coffee. Mostly, men ask the women out on the date, although it is also possible and not uncommon for the women to ask a man out on a date, which would have been unheard of back in the 1950’s. In today’s day premarital sex is much more common after just the first few dates if not the first. In traditional dating, back in the 1950’s, the first time you got to know the person was face to face. Now people use social media like Facebook, Twitter, Match.com etc. to find people they would go out on dates with. With online dating you are at an advantage, you are able to get to know the person prior to meeting them in person, where back in the traditional way you would have to do that face to face and the people would meet by coincidence. With online dating vs. traditional dating there is an advantage to the online side. With online you are forced to get to know the person on a nonphysical level before you get to know them on a physical. Online offers a better opportunity to find the best match, since you are able to see what the person is all about, for example their likes and dislikes, their hobbies, their family life, even their relationship
