Bowie has been awarded with numerous awards for his music and their accompanying videos, his talent has lead him to receive two awards at the Grammys one in 1985 which was short form and the other in 2006 lifetime achievement award; also three MTV Video Music Awards. Bowie has also one eleven NME awards (Annual Music Awards), and was awarded with four Brit Awards. In 1996 he was given the Outstanding Contribution Award for his efforts and contribution to the music industry. This artists has put in new and amazing ideas into the music industry, and is popular worldwide. With 9 Platinum, 11 gold and 8 silver albums in the UK, and 5 Platinum and 7 gold albums in the USA. The Rolling Stones Magazine had claimed that Bowie was “the greatest rock star ever” in 2016, and ranked him 39 on the list of 100 greatest artists in the hall of fame in 1996.
