David Bowie One of the most influential artists of all time since the Beatles, David Bowie has sold more than 145 million albums worldwide. Welcome Rolling stone chief-editor Jann Wenner, music editor Ralph J Gleason, invited guests, nominees, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the annual Rolling Stone Music Hall of Fame Nomination ceremony. Each year Rolling Stone magazine recognises the significant achieves and impacts that a band or solo artists has had on a specific genre and ultimately the music industry itself. In 1996 he was given the Outstanding Contribution Award for his efforts and contribution to the music industry. This artists has put in new and amazing ideas into the music industry, and is popular worldwide. With 9 Platinum, 11 gold and 8 silver albums in the UK, and 5 Platinum and 7 gold albums in the USA. The Rolling Stones Magazine had claimed that Bowie was “the greatest rock star ever” in 2016, and ranked him 39 on the list of 100 greatest artists in the hall of fame in 1996.
