“Just imagine trying to cover 20 sea lions’ bodies with medicine!” (Woo). David Kenney was the very first veterinarian hired at Seaworld. He was originally called by Seaworld to conduct necropsies on whales and dolphins, they liked the work he had done so they decided to hire him on the job. David W. Kenney was the first veterinarian also to work at Seaworld. Some things that David W. Kenney had done and things many do not know about him would be the following: life before working at Seaworld from when he was born all the way to him passing away, the events he had done at Seaworld and the changes he had made at his home, how he got the job, finding a way to give twenty sea lions medicine all at once and many more things.

Kenney is known for would be that when he first started working at Seaworld he found a baby grey whale with a pierced lung, he took it back to Seaworld, patched it up, and looked after it carefully. Kenney had also orchestrated the live capture of a baby grey whale, which he lassoed using a hoop net. When the sea lions needed dental work done Dr. David Kenney was right there fixing up their teeth. David Kenney had improved a respirator for whales before he left Seaworld. When Shamu was being brought to Seaworld in San Diego, Dr. Kenney designed and supervised the air transport for the first Shamu to go to the San Diego amusement park. Dr. David may have passed away, but he is remembered by many just for being the very first veterinarian at Seaworld, and also creating a fast and sort of easy way to give twenty sea lions medicine at once. David Kenney had put a lot of effort into working at Seaworld. For example; he expanded Seaworld with his own home, dedicated most of his lifetime at Seaworld, and also finding a way to cure a baby grey whale, with a pierced lung.
