Dylan Hryc Mrs. M Reimertz English 2 Honors 14 November 2016 Elisha, the fight, and a family Dawn was an inspiration, showing anyone from a lost past may be a difference maker and fight through life’s newest challenges. Elisha the main character, is a true example as he had shown he can transform a society from the challenges of his past that made him stronger. The book Dawn written by Elie Wiesel, showcased the life of a young Jewish man in Palestine and the encounters of life. Regardless of how old Elisha is, the unexpected appears in his adventure with the Movement. “Anyone can hide. Facing up to things, working through them, that’s what makes you strong,” (Dessian). Reading this work of fiction gave me bursts of enjoyment, asking myself curiously, how is Palestine? Who is this man John Dawson? “John Dawson’s kidnaping plunged the whole country into a state of nervous tension,” (Wiesel 6). I enjoyed that way of introducing John Dawson because it allows me to know Dawson will play a significant role in Dawn. Furthermore, Wiesel strongly displayed the setting and character descriptions, capturing the textured and spine chilling mood appropriate for a Holocaust background. “It was hot with all the heat of an autumn evening in Palestine.
