The show depicted the everyday experiences of a Jewish immigrant family in the Bronx and their navigation of American society. At the beginning of each episode, Molly Goldberg, the sympathetic protagonist and mother figure, directly addresses the audience, introducing the moral themes of the episode along with advertisements. By breaking the fourth wall of communication in television with her direct address, Molly mediates between the story world and reality, which eases the transition and makes her relatable to the viewer. For the first televised sitcom, it is remarkable how the show vocalized the female perspective, and centralized an immigrant group thought to be unassimilable in society
Would you like to relive 60 minutes of your life over again? Are there things that you have done that you would like to undo? Well Award winning author, Brian Caswell, born in 1954 in Wales studied at the University of Sydney created an interesting and thought provoking short story called ’60 minutes’. She said she was sorry, but he interrupted her and gave her the best news she had ever received. He said, “I’m sorry to have to tell you this but you are fired. You are no longer a shift leader, you are now the boss, congratulations.” With that remark her smile grew wide and she was honored to take on such responsibility. She had become the new official boss of her worksite and realized she was the first female to be a boss.

In this paper, I will discuss authoritative parenting and authoritarian parenting in the TV show “Gilmore Girls”. In episode 12, Rory and Lane were going to have a double date with Dean and his friend Todd. However Rory and Lane used different information management strategy in telling their mothers. Lane lied to Ms. Kim about their plans. She told her mother that she was going to spend the whole night with Lorelai and Rory.
“The After Hours” Imagine being locked up in a dark room filled with nothing but darkness — and mannequins. Just being alone in the dark is nerve-racking, but being with plastic mannequins that’s even more horrifying. Their plastic human-like faces and designer clothing are a few aspects that you make to try to assure yourself they’re not authentic human-beings. Nevertheless, their human-like face seems to stare into space, or at you while you’re shopping. Staring at a mannequin gives you an eerie feeling that they might upthrust their arms, batter their eyes, or move their lips.
Neo-Aristotelian Analysis of The Newsroom: Episode 1 The Newsroom is a political drama series that premiered on HBO on June 24, 2012. It was created and written by award winning producer Aaron Sorkin. The drama centers on a fictional cable news network, Atlantis Cable News (ACN) channel, and its hard-headed anchor Will McAvoy. The book i chose to read for my book report was The Longest Day by Cornelius Ryan. It is a nonfiction book about D-day, set mostly in Normandy, France. It is in the Allied point of view for most of the book. Some of the main characters that it follows are Dwight D. Eisenhower, Hitler, and many different Generals that were under both Eisenhower and Hitler’s command.
The novel break of day, written by tony palmer, follows the story of Murray as he comes across the challenges of war and life on the farm. The novel tells a great story of a young boy’s life, but this story proved to be less of a fictitious tale and more of a personal lesson as palmer presented his views on death, family secrets and bravery. He used character like uncle jack, Murray, will and Sid to present key themes and present an opinion. One of the themes that palmer not only included but expanded on in the novel was bravery.
Day 1 After watching news on reports of extreme behavior, it is evident that news analysts and reporters overemphasize some facts or occurrences. For instance, the Orlando nightclub shooting was covered intensely whereby images of people scampering for safety were repeatedly aired. The media also used terrorism consultants and analysts who overemphasized the incidence. For instance, considering how the Orlando shooting was reported many people would believe that going to public spaces would expose one to a terrorist attack. Day 2
The fool plays a pivotal role in comedies. These characters tend to lack the normal qualities that may be present in other characters, but they bring depth to the story through their unique viewpoints. They often work against the protagonist by offering detrimental insight or inadvertently steering the story in an unexpected path. Alan represents the fool in Hangover, a movie which focuses on the story of four men who go to Vegas for an unforgettably forgotten bachelor party. He brings a drug to the party and sends the story into its conflict.
Clare Boothe Luce stands in front of an audience at the Women's National Press Club in 1960 to deliver a speech about the issues and successes of the American Press. She realizes that what she has to say may not be well received by her audience because they are the journalists of the American press, so she addresses them with an introduction that purposefully prepares them for her criticism. Luce uses a kind, humorous tone to balance out her harsh message, makes herself seem credible by giving her audience compliments throughout, and she redirects the idea of journalism in a way that appeals to her audience emotionally. Luce's introduction begins with an immediate shift in tone from being delightful to being harsh and getting down to business.
Bad Ideas for Bad Television Shows was a play presented by a really prepared group of actors. This extraordinary play was funny, complete, and understandable. There was no doubt that what we saw is a comedy. This play was about three desperate TV executives who need a show to appear on their TV channel. In the first scene, they were so desperate because they were “out of ideas” and they even beg.
These questions strengthen his speech as a whole and force his audience to think about news producer’s
