Daycare Communication Plan

My communication plan for my first year of teaching will engage three groups in the educational community, which are: students and parents, teachers, and local community organizations that are geared toward enhancing and developing character while providing a safe learning environment.
The first group I plan to focus on, as a first year teacher will be students and their parents. The U.S. Department of Education states, “Good communication with parents and caregivers can build support for and strengthen the important work that you are doing in the classroom (ed.gov).” Due to the young impressionable age of my students (preschoolers), this is perhaps the most important link of communication for the stability of my classroom. The first form of communication will be a website designed to create a friendly environment between parents and myself. On the website parents will be able to check the daily progress of their child, giving them access to the daily curriculum lesson, as well as homework for the week. This blog will be specific to in-home daycare provider’s needs, issues, and helpful teaching methods. The purpose of this blog site is to provide a space for in home care as our discussions may vary from that of commercial center providers. Blogging also provides a space for teachers and can be used to improve learning communities (Top, Yukselturk & Inan, 2010). Initially the blog will be open to licensed and CDA providers in Charlotte, NC. As I stated in mission, I want to implement strategies that go above and beyond insuring the best education for all those who cross my path. The main page will list subject titles to various discussion forums.
