I want to run a daycare center called Healthy Childhoods in Austin, TX in 6 to 7 years. It’ll focus on kids being healthier in mind and body. This includes lessons on hygiene, dental care and fun activities that simulate the mind and body. I feel Austin is a very health conscience city that will appreciate a place that promotes kids growing up healthy. My short term goal is to find employment for 5 years straight working with kids. I plan to work for PACE Afterschool Program at Greenwood hills elementary for 2 years to gain experience with kids from 1st to 6th grade until move to Killen, TX .During the winter I will volunteer at Vida’s Daycare in Greenville, TX. Over the next few years I will travel to Austin to look at the different areas where I feel a daycare is needed. Then I will visit various daycare centers to see their charging prices. This will also be the time for me to see if any daycare are looking to close in the near future so that I could decide if I want to buy out the daycare. During this period I will look over Texas state day care rules and regulation for running a daycare center. I will also need to study Austin laws involving kids, building and businesses. I will plan out my activities, meal plans, my time range for work hours and come up with a list of equipment I’ll need. I will figure out my ideal set up and layout for the day. I will have to decide if the kids will go on field trips and if so where to? I will move to Austin after about 2 years and acquire a job working with kids. I will continue to save money to put towards my Day Care Start up Fund. I plan to run a day care in my house or apartment so I have to get certified by getting home Day Care certifications. Starting a home day care that I will run for at least three years will allow me the time to get use to running a daycare and help me save up money for a building. I will of course consider getting a loan from the bank if that’s a better option from
