PER REPORTER: Latasha said when Carter was attending In Home Day Care his father (Dedrick) would pick him up from daycare around two or three o’clock in the evening. Latasha said when she would drop the child off at daycare he would have three bottles, a jug of milk, and baby food packed for him. However, she said when she would pick the child up from his father’s house around five forty-five at night he would still have two in a half full bottles, one half of bottle, and unopened food. Latasha said Carter is supposed to eat every two to three hours but was only being given a half of bottle in the eight hours of him being at daycare and with Dedrick.
Factors that a parent should consider when choosing a childcare option is visiting the childcare center that you are considering for their child. Make note of how many children are in the group, how many caretakers there are, and how the children respond to their caretakers. Thoroughly interview prospective candidates for in-home childcare and babysitting. Get references from other parents who have used the day care center or in-home caregiver you are considering.
In my personal experience, when my mom didn 't have money for a babysitter she would usually take us to my aunt or wouldn 't go to work for that day She would always find a way for my brother and I wouldn 't be alone. Their was a time where me and my mom had gone to pick up my little sister, there was lady that works on the stop sign and told us if we knew this little girl and this other lady had said that she was been walking from the corner and she had been lost so we told her, where she lives and we found her babysitter and she had left the little girl all alone in the house while the babysitter goes to the market. This isn 't a good babysitter because she left the girl alone, what would she have done is she didn 't see her in the house, this lady was irresponsible for leaving the girl alone. Luscombe said “Shanesha Taylor, who left two toddlers in a hot Arizona car for more than an hour”, these kind of cases make me sad and think how a mother can leave their children in a car.
I am a first-generation college student who aged out of the foster care system. My formative experiences in foster care led me the profession of social work. I earned a BSW (San José State University) and MSW (University of Michigan) with a specialization in social policy and evaluation in the practice area of children and youth in families. During my second year of my MSW studies, I was invited to speak at the White House bill-signing ceremony of the Foster Care Independence Act (FCIA), based on my advocacy work to reform the foster care system. This invitation led to an MSW field practicum at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where I worked on the implementation of the FCIA.

Growing up in foster care can be challenging, then transitioning out of foster care into the real world can be extremely difficult without the acquired skills and the support of family. It may seem as though there are too many odds and statics stacked up against you, waiting for you to fail. My injustice project helps to address these issues through mentoring and building relationships letting them now that they are important and can do anything they set their mind to accomplish. The concepts of social stratification, status, privilege and oppression relate to the topic of transitioning foster children by informing previous understandings and societal views.
In this essay I will be considering how innovations in theory, policy and research have influenced the development of coordination, partnership and integration in childhood practice in my childcare setting in Scotland. Foster care is something that America has put a lot of time and effort into to get right. Foster care will be defined as any place where a child is taken from their family of residence or who has no able guardian at birth. These are included but not limited to foster parents, group homes, residentials, and emergency shelters (5). Though we have put time, effort, and money into getting things right, foster care is still a dangerous and traumatizing place for children. Foster care has long been considered a “National Disgrace” due to the influx of missing children, complaints of maltreatment, and even deaths (5).
Writers decide to start their texts different to others, they can follow a pattern; however, a writer chooses how they want to start their text, for example, a reoccurring beginning in Rossetti’s poetry is ‘in medias res’ where we are not given context and as readers we are thrown straight into the story. Another example is ‘The Great Gatsby’ which starts with the narrator, Nick Carraway, begins the novel by commenting on himself; furthermore, ‘The Kite Runner’ starts with the protagonist reminiscing about the past, this can easily be compared to the ‘The Great Gatsby’ These texts beginnings are very significant because they are the first words we read in their text and we need to be engaged in order to read further on. The significance of the beginning in Rossetti’s poetry has different beginnings, however, a theme that keeps surfacing is her use of ‘In Medias Res’ which gives no context to what is going on in the story, as a result the reader might think this is intriguing and wish to read on through the text to find the context and therefore the use of ‘in medias res’ in her poetry is effective. People shouldn't have to spend more money out of their pockets for childcare. I feel like it takes away from the home and doesn’t serves as a good purpose. The government should pay the employers and employees for the services they are giving out to people. “Enrolling in an educational daycare will also prepare young minds for school so that they have a better idea of what is expected of them and how they should be behaving around others. Without government funding many families simply cannot afford to have their children properly watched while they are at work.
During my time at placement I was given the role of a Nursery Assistant; My duties were to plan and prepare activities for children, read stories, nappy change them, observe and make notes for use in their reports. I was also a key worker for one child, I had to monitor their progress and share information about their development with their parents and carers. The setting was a warm and welcoming environment, I found that all of the staff were very friendly and reassuring. The placement lasted for four weeks and I worked from Monday to Friday from 8:30AM to 5:30PM. On my first day I arrived at 10AM for my induction and was introduced by the manager of the setting to the other members of staff.
The only poetry that I have ever read was if it pertained to school work. I have never just read poetry for enjoyment. There are times where I find it difficult to pick up what the poet is trying to explain or talk about in the poem and I have to read it several times to understand the meaning. Among all the poems that I have read through the chapters, one of my favorites was “Do not go gentle into that good night” by Dylan Thomas.
I choose to view the video clip, Maggie Simpson in “The longest Daycare”. There are some entertaining pieces in the clip one being in the beginning when they test Maggie’s intelligence with the equipment manufactured by Often Wrong Technologies and going through the security check in the beginning. However, the video reveals how society often views people’s intelligence without often knowing how smart that person maybe. Maggie shows her intelligence when she encounters her first case of bullying.
