William Dusinberre’s book Them Dark Days concentrates on the Gowrie plantation, the Butler Island plantation and, the Chicora Wood plantation as examples of the dark reality slavery had in the U.S. South. There are three different forms of functionalism such as the analytic functionalism, physchofuctionalism and machine-state functionalism. Analytic functionalism is the most common of them all, it describes the function of a job description of mental states. The last form of functionalism is the machine-state functionalism in which was founded by Hillary Putnam. Putnam was an American philosopher whose ideas were based on the apologies of mind.
A functionalist perspective sees that parts of culture work together to fulfill different societal needs. “They view culture as a reflection of society’s values.” (pg.88, Conerly, Holmes, & Tamang) Whereas conflict theorists think that culture reinforces inequalities in a society that are seen in today's like racism. Then there are symbolic interactionists who look at culture through someone’s “interactions, interpretations, and exchanges between individuals and the symbols that comprise a culture.”
THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS BY JONATHAN DEMME In many ways, ‘The Silence of the lambs’ is different from its predecessors in the Hannibal cannibal novel series.
