These events draw an interest from people because they are subject to scrutiny. The question asked is whether or not the results of the event justified the means about which the results were sought out. The end is not justified by the means because on the way to the end there are sometimes obstacles that can cause unethical and immoral actions. He says this because it is the slogan of the party. The party is the governing body and their goal is to brainwash the people and build and contain a totalitarian government. In order to do this the government kills the people who act in defiance. In the end of the novel the narrator says” He finally loved Big Brother”. The end was met by the party, but to get to their goal, they tortured and ruined Winston and Julia relationship. They also killed and continued to kill everyone who does not follow their rules. In the movie “The Island” the people of the world are not aware of the way by which they are being cured. The solution that is trying to be met is to have a way to cure anyone of disease or complication such as old age. The goal is met by the doctor in charge of the company making the clones, Dr. Bernard Merrick. He uses deceit to sell his clone/ product to people, while the people are unaware of how they are being cured (Source F) This as well as causing mistrust and isolation is an example of immoral and unethical behavior because Dr. Bernard attempts experiment all the products, which are somewhat human. Macbeth in the play Macbeth after murdering King Duncan feels isolated from everyone else (Source E). He becomes paranoid and kills his best friend because of his hallucinated mistrust. He and his wife Lady Macbeth become isolated from each other shortly after the dinner party scene. They reached their goal of becoming King and Queen but they were no longer partners.
