Boats may seem like something that is very normal in society today, but boats carry a long history of humans and have been able to tell scientists just how humans have interacted. In Document 1, it explains how boats and lanteen sails are very advanced, and in order to make this you must be very clever, so the large distribution of these sails are able to show us the diffusion and interactions of humans, and these sails have also increased maneuverability of transportation. Lanteen sails are something that has impacted human history significantly. Without these sails, humans would not have been able to cross the Indian Ocean in order to trade with each other, which is a big resource for many of these countries and losing that could lead to the whole downfall of empires, resulting in losing resources, technology, and wealth as a whole, profoundly changing the course of how society has undergone.
