Chapter Two Maybella quickly runs into the cave to change out of her swimming gear. By the time she got back outside, everyone was back from hunting and they were setting up dinner. Everyone gathered around once Azalea put the deer in place. Maybella sat next to her mother and Phoebe on the other side. Everyone waits for Azalea to tell them when to eat.
“Mom, when are you going to tell the story?” Maybella asks.
“Once everyone eats. Be patience sweetie.” Azalea calmly says, “Everyone may eat.”
In only two minutes, the pack gobbles up everything but the bones.
Maybella thinks, “The way they eat amuses me. Good thing I don’t ever try to dig in. I would be torn to shreds like the meal!”
“Did everyone have enough?” Azalea asks.

“Alright but you aren’t going to like any of it… First thing, the pack isn’t full but, we are too tired to continue hunting. She wanted to continue talking about the problem at hand but, she knew better to drop it than to continue on.
“Anybody else want to hear a story?” Azalea yells to the rest of the pack. Markus sits down and a couple of small wolves come over to join the storytelling. The rest of the wolves start to clean up the bones and dispose of them where the humans won’t find them.
Azalea starts the story, “A long, long time ago, there were four dominant species on earth. And it was not like what we have now… pesky humans thinking they are better than the rest but, in reality, they are scared. Anyways… the four dominant species were the Humans, the Witches, the Vampires, and the Werewolves. They all lived in peace and harmony... for quite some time actually.”
Maybella inches closer and closer to her mother the more she talks. The rest of them all get very intrigued and some eyes widen.
Azalea continues, “But, one day, the Witches had enough. One witch in particular actually, Melinda Silverbark, was the only one who was bored and wanted to expand her magical capacities by uses parts and pieces of the other species. She wanted to create inhumane spells.”
Some of the wolves gasps. Maybella stares, intrigued still, at her
