The last poem for analysis is written by George Barker and seem to be completely different from others that have been represented above. Despite of a really short form, the poetry consist of a lot of symbols, it is higly symbolical piece of poetry. The poem is not just short, also rhyme scheme is very simple – ababab. Barker combined simple form with complex symbolism that makes the poem unique and not simple at all. On the first glance, the reader spots the themes of paradise, beautiful surroundings and bright, promising future. Barker basically composed the image of paradise, as a place that was intended for the afterlife, the place where human soul goes after the death. There is a question, what is the connection of paradise and war? The thesis already explored the motif of death and its connection to the war. The harp of dawn is a strong reference to the Christianity as well as according the symbolism, whole poem is highly Christian. The harp is possibly the allusion to the song of David : „A Song, a Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul. Awake, harp and lyre; I will awaken the dawn! I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations.…“ (Psalm 108:2) The whole allusion – the heavenly notes, it refers to praising of God, the presence of
