In this section, there is a general buildup of Victor Frankenstein’s fluctuation of feeling. These feelings rely on his ability to test the boundaries of nature and science to create his own creature. Within these scenes, the elements focused on are the mind and decision process of Victor. He is beginning to discover who he is as well as what his true capabilities could be and how he could embellish himself in science. Having to reflect on the downsides of committing himself to science rules over him until Victor began to spend more time within nature. While within nature, he once again realized creating a monster will satisfy himself and will allow him to feel greater personal value. Not only did his power and self-reflection get in the way during his thought process, but it is essentially a large flaw in Victor. The self-doubt, fear, determination, passion, impulsiveness, and ignorance Victor Frankenstein possess throughout this scene impacts his thinking process and what he felt towards creating a name for himself within the scientific community. The self-doubt roots in reflecting on how Frankenstein felt about what his professor stated to him and how making his creation goes against human nature. Yet during this thought process, Victor is determined and passionate to attempt to make a scientific breakthrough. Knowing he was capable of creating change and the passion he had is what truly led Victor to impulsively choose that creating a creature was something that he was capable of wholeheartedly.
