Romeo and Juliet’s Decision Making Shakespeare made a lot of decisions when writing his plays, one of the plays being Romeo and Juliet. In Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare showed many things through the writing he wrote, he said and showed things in his own way. He also wrote this play showing all the types of decision making that life has to offer. Like Juliet’s decision to even bring up and offer to get married to Romeo exemplifies how rash, unplanned decision making making can lead to something dangerous, for example, death. Romeo immediately blamed it on being in love with Juliet because it made him more “effeminate”. So he turns around and fights Tybalt, which results in Romeo killing Tybalt. Sure, he did kill one of his best friends but if he thought it through maybe the story would have turned out completely different. “Now, Tybalt, take the "villain" back again, that late thou gavest me; for Mercutio's soul is but a little way above our heads, staying for thine to keep him company: Either thou, or I, or both, must go with him.” (Romeo-3.1) This quote is what Romeo says when he finds out Mercutio is dead. This quote is basically saying that Mercutio’s soul isn’t gone yet and is waiting for Tybalt to keep him company, basically that Tybalt’s about to die. So Romeo says lets fight and either he or Tybalt’s going up with Mercutio. This is one of the more obvious terrible decisions because once Romeo killed Tybalt, he was banished. And that basically leads it up to the death of both Romeo and Juliet. “Oh, I am fortune’s fool!” After Romeo kills Tybalt, he immediately regrets it saying he’s a fool and has awful luck.
