Several women had got together to go against the people in the women’s rights convention to argue for their rights and freedom. I am happy to say that a little more than a century later we were successful to gain that freedom and rights after several attempts. When the declaration of Independence was written two women Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Stanton were told they were not allowed to voice their opinion. How were men and women supposedly created equal if there was no involvement of woman at all? That declaration involved only men who I think were rude, idiotic, and just cruel. God created man and woman. “they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” (pg. 50). Man and woman are just ordinary people I think this is saying not only is god the creator but with life came the liberty to have their own beliefs, ability to speak, and religion. Both men and women had those rights to begin with. To me the pursuit of happiness is doing what makes you happy. The women’s opinions and beliefs regarding the system didn’t matter to them. Woman were upset that they didn’t have a say. Men were dominant over women having the ability to possess more freedom than women, its as if they controlled the women’s behavior. They obviously had no heart to care what women were going through. Woman wanted the freedom of their inalienable rights and other social and moral rights. Once again Men had more power and just because the women didn’t like what was occurring didn’t mean the men had to change it. I believe this is saying that men thought women were nothing they were lesser people. Though, People in general would rather suffer than to make a change in the government or anything. “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their duty to throw off such government, and provide new guard for their future security” (pg.51). I think this is saying that after women were constantly being abused for a long period time over these rights that they didn’t fix before because they are humans rather to be suffering than
