Deepwater Horizon (2016) movie is about the explosive disaster at offshore drilling rig which called Deepwater Horizon. It was filmed based on a true story happened on April 20, 2010 and started at 9:56 pm which were situated at Louisiana Coast. The horrific event took place at the Deepwater Horizon semi-submersible Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU), which was operated by an oil and gas company, Transocean with drilling for BP in the Macondo Prospect oil field. There were 126 crews on board before the explosion occurred. The detonation lead to in the scuttle of the Deepwater Horizon whereby, causing the deaths of 11 workers with 17 others were injured. In other word, the blowout is caused due to human error, as the management did not follow the procedure thoroughly. Prior to the blowout, the management were informed to do a cement bond log test before doing any drilling actions. The purpose of the cement log test is to records enough evidence and information from wires rundown the well. This is to connote whether there are any weaknesses in the cement. This test is designed to measure the actual efficacy of the bond between the cement sheets, the formation and the casing. Prior to the accident, BP employ a top oilfield service company that is responsible to test the strength of cement linings. However, the Schlumberger’s Logging team were told to leave the station without performing any inspection. Generally, the accident occurs because of the cement bond log test was not performed and causes the explosion. It is assumed that the test is not done is due to the time consuming and the test is quite costly. The most significant risk that corresponding towards the accident is the conflict of interest arousing between the top management and the experts. In this case, the top management strictly wanted to have a drilling project with a minimal costs and time. It is not acceptable by the experts as the safety of the crews and the stations are not being considered. They strictly demand for a proper procedure before performing any drilling activities. This shows that the top management does not have self-awareness on the important things and does not act due care & diligence towards the crew
