“Deepwater Horizon” is a movie regarding explosion of oil rig based on true event which happened in the year of 2010 at United States. It is a dramatization of the April 2010 disaster, when the offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon exploded and created the worst oil spill in U.S. history. In this movie, the disaster was happened on 20 April 2010, the drilling rig exploded at the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico and kills eleven crew members. Main character and his colleagues fighting for survival as the heat and flames become devastating and suffocating, it happened due to technical failures and bad decisions makes by people. There are several lessons learned from this movie, which include leader should not be reckless and irresponsible. Our life is priceless. Bear in mind that, you only live once and you do not have the second chance to live once you are dead. No matter where your workplace is, it always has a sign stated “Safety come first” especially workers in the construction site or high risk workers. Apart from that, family is always pillar of my strength and they are precious, this incident makes me realize that life is short, be consistence and appreciate every second you had in your life, cherish your family as they will leave you one day. Additionally, leader is an individual that holds a superior position within its field and able to perform high degree of control or influence over others which means a leader needs a good personality in it.
