When you hear the word society what do you immediately think of? A group of people that have the same beliefs or goal? A small happy community that live and work together harmoniously?
Society is an expectation vs reality. The Merriam-Webster dictionary states society as "an organized group working together or periodically meeting because of common interests, beliefs, or profession". This is what you would expect a society to be like, a group of people that get along well due to commonalities.
Unfortunately, in reality, the term society isn't really used to describe a group of happy people getting together due to common interest. Instead it's a term used to group everyone under what society has really become, a group of people that lack self confidence due to not being able to express themselves. Our society is not all rainbows and butterflies. Our society is full of violence, physically and verbally. Society wants us to be normal even though no one can give a straight definition on what a "normal" person is.
I was born in 2002 and there has been a war every year I've been alive. The amount of wars just America has been in alone and the number of years they lasted is a tremulous number that results in a lot of war years and barely and peace. Not a day goes by where the news isn't talking about the various wars going on, a mass shooting, or threats from another country. Wars are sometimes inevitable but the last two violence acts are the effects of human kind being stubborn not wanting to let go of their stereotypes. Since people tend to stereotype and not believe in anything outside of their own opinions, this leads to the whole country declaring violence onto another civilization that is different from them, a civilization that is completely normal in their own sense but just doesn't look like
