What does it mean to be Family? Family, the word itself brings images of love, comfort, and peace in mind. Its foundation is set upon the structure, care, and dependence. It is a combination of individuals striving to understand and love one another unconditionally. To be a family doesn't necessarily mean you have to have blood ties. In fact, the definition of family is evolving like never before. It seems that now the only thing you need in order to be a family is love and trust, which can be found anywhere from a close friend to a pet. The women often had no say in decision making. However, with more foreign influence in Korea things have changed. Women are emerging as leaders and business executives. The opinion of other relatives matters just as much as the parents. It is common that when young people feel as if they are ready for marriage, they ask their parents for suggestions, instead of looking for one on their own.
