March 17, 2023 Dear Readers, Fear. Fear is defined as being afraid of someone or something that is likely to be dangerous, painful or threatening. Should you fear your family? Should you fear your own brother?
“The only thing to fear is fear itself.” (Franklin D. Roosevelt). Fear is a commonly confused emotion. Everyone’s response to fear varies. People may pass off fear as other things such as stress, anxiety, and in some cases laughter.
Everyone faces fear in life, it's not just once or twice but people face fear multiple times in life. Is facing fear always easy though? Does facing fear ever get easier? Or does it just get harder and harder to face? Fear is an emotion and the best thing that could help act regardless of a fear is courage.
Humans are born to be afraid. A feeling of fear is only natural for humans to feel; it is a part of who we are. However, it can be more than just a feeling. Fear can be a weakness in humans even though it is only our natural instinct for survival. Sometimes, fear is so powerful that it can blur our rationality and dominate how we think and what we do.
When realizing what you fear, you are more likely to be scared and hurt by the fear. Since it has been feared for so long that idea of fear starts to fade without realizing it because it is normal at some point. Fearing something for so long can make someone lose hope in certain accomplishments and fights. Some people will live in fear because of the thought that what they fear will eventually catch up to them, “ Tis harder knowing it is due, Than knowing it is here.”
Fear can be very advantageous when it comes to surviving. Fear inhibits you from doing risky actions that can put you and others in danger; it keeps you cautious and careful. Even though fear helps you when surviving, fear can harm you in life. Fear can cause paranoia that keeps you from enjoying life. You start to obsess over minimal things leading to hallucination.
Fear is a concept that is prominent in everyone’s life. Whether it is rational or not, we all fear something. Fear is the distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, pain, or evil. The differences in fear arise in how one copes with their fears and where their fear is derived from. The fear that humans most commonly succumb to would be the fear of the unknown.
Fear comes from a lack of proper understanding, the unknown and the insecurity of not being able to anticipate or evaluate a thing. Fear also makes them want to conquer it. That means action and fighting that fear. Can you wrong someone for their instinct and
Fear is not real. It is the product of thoughts you create. Danger is very real, but fear is a choice. In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” the main character Rainsford is being hunted which creates fear in him. He is scared of dying but overcame his fear by facing the danger of the hunting game.
Many people are afraid of something whether it be certain animals, bugs, plants, or even people. However, I believe that everyone has a fear of death. When you die you don't know what happens afterwards. Some people think that your energy absorbs into the earth and you just become energy in the earth. Others believe nothing happens everything is simply black and your nonexistent.
Fear is a destructive Beast. Fears overwhelm people on a daily basis. The terrifying feeling a person gets as if there heart is going to burst through their chest cavity. No matter how courageous this individual is there’s always going to be something that has them afraid. Many people put there lives on hold because of some sort of Fear.

Fear is the experience of concern or anxiety. Many people fear things like snakes or clowns, and maybe even heights. However, the thing that makes my skin crawl is not quite like the others. What makes me fret is losing control. What I mean by this is letting my things I can’t control out of my grip.
Every person is afraid of something and all humans have different fears. It can either be something small such insects or intense such as death. We all deal with our fears in many different ways, we can either run from it or we find a way to overcome it. But how do you get rid of fear that you don't understand? Fear is an emotional concept that subconsciously runs our lives. FDR once said “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Having fear and being fearful are two fundamentally different ideas. The idea of fear is not a force that is supposed to keep us from doing what we hope for but as a motivator for success.
