Modern society has taught people to liberally identify friends attributing to the reckless companionship one makes without acknowledging the pure intention of the relationship which in turn strays further from the pursuit of happiness. A friend is what most people would consider someone who has a fulfilling impact on one’s life; this fulfillment can range anywhere from someone to confide in, someone to aid them, or someone to comfort them. Few people recognize young peoples’ malleable attitudes towards the truly sacred pursuit of friendship.

A few common interests are all it takes for a friendship to bud. It is imperative to point out that pleasure friends are not a bad thing to have. They the people who are fun to be around and who are easy to relate to. However, while it is not impossible, it is uncommon for a pleasure friend in college to become a virtuous friend. Common interests are constituent qualities of a friendship but superficial interests are ephemeral and are not guaranteed to have a true friend.
